Welcome to Abbott Middle School. I look forward to again serving the families of Abbott Middle School and the West Bloomfield School District as Assistant Principal.
Previously I worked as a counselor at Abbott for 15 years so I am excited to be coming home to this amazing building. Abbott's wonderful reputation is known across the district. I promise to work hard for you and your children.
For those of you who do not know me, I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida and my Masters Degree in Education/Counseling from the University of South Florida. After working in Washington, DC for two years in a political position, I returned to the University of Florida where I earned a Specialist Degree in Counseling. I have worked for West Bloomfield Public Schools for 19 years as a counselor both at Abbott and West Bloomfield High School. My experiences at the high school further solidified my understanding of the importance of the middle school experience. I enjoyed seeing that graduation 'end game' and how much of an impact middle school staff continued to have.
The relationships forged at this level and the care the Abbott staff has for the students is unparalleled. More recently I have been involved in many district wide initiatives and had the opportunity to work with staff across the district. I believe in West Bloomfield Public Schools. I live in the district, work in the district and most importantly send my own son to West Bloomfield Schools. On a personal note, I have been married to my husband Mike for 14 years and our son will be entering Abbott as a sixth grader this fall. I know what it feels like to entrust the staff with the most precious part of my life, and like you, I do that every day and have always been impressed.
I look forward to meeting both you and your Abbott students soon. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, my email is: email@example.com. You can also follow me on twitter @AbbottAPGraff
