The Doherty iCenter is a collaborative learning space that combines traditional print media with technology. The "i" in front of iCenter speaks to the individual learner, who may be a student, teacher, staff or community member. At different times in our lives, and depending on the situation, each of us takes on the role of teacher or learner. The new iCenter is a venue for accessing information, integrating technology, and developing new ideas through innovation and imagination.
The iCenter is a collaborative, buzzing space that meets kids where they are, in their own media. Students are taught technology, media and information literacy skills. Students also work at Centers that include using iPads and Chromebooks, reading books, DIY (do it yourself projects), Create & Explore, and literacy activities. We include elements of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math) whenever possible.
